Content

Publisher, Media, Zone and Leaf are key concepts in Adtoma Fusion and together they create a hierarchy called a Media Zone. Before any media can be assigned to an order it has to be added to a Publisher in Fusion. The structure of the Media Zone is naturally dependent of the specific requirements of the publisher. The Media Zone and its components are added in the Media Administration section.

Adding media

  1. Click Administration in the Quick Launch menu.

  1. Select the top-node in the media tree and then click Add Media.

This action will open a Media dialog box.

  1. Enter the new Media name and click OK.
  2. Select the new Media from the media tree.
  3. Locate the Media Information tab and enter a publisher name in the <Enter publisher name> field

Note: The publisher is a company or person and must exist in the system before it can be added to the media. If the publisher does not exist it has to be created. Please refer to: Creating a new contact

  1. Click Save .
  2. Click Synchronize Media in lower-left corner of the workspace to update the media tree or continue adding new media.

Note: The update of the media tree may take a moment and may not be visible until the workspace has been reloaded. The media tree uses alphabetical sorting order.

Note: The Name field corresponds to the media name in the media tree and the Alternative Name field is the system specific name for the media item. The alternative name can only consist of lower-case letters and underscore characters and is created automatically by Fusion. However it is not updated automatically if the name is changed. The alternative name is identical to the name later used in the ad tag. Changes in an alternative name must always be reflected in the corresponding ad tag. If the name is only changed in Fusion and not in the ad tag it will result in that the ad connected to the media will not be visible! For more information on ad tags in Fusion please read: Tagging guide.

Adding media settings

There are five top-level media settings:

  • Click Through Rate Percent – Is used for click campaigns in order to prevent click campaign dominating a media. It is done by converting the click campaign into a CPM type campaign and thereby giving it an impression goal as well as a click goal. The percentage value is dependent on various factors such as click-rate and available impressions etc.
  • Block Parent Click Through Rate – Enables the possibility to exclude Zones from click campaign percentage settings.
  • Time Zone – Time zone setting used in the system.
  • Force use calculated impression forecast for weight adjustment – Is used for overriding the actual impression count made by the system with manually entered impression goals.
  • Delivery curve slope percentage –  (In progress)

  2. Click Synchronize Media in lower-left corner of the workspace to update the media tree or continue adding new zones.

By repeating the steps above the entire structure of the Media Zone can be created. Adding products, spaces and product layouts to the Media Zone in combination with pricing will create a Media Product. The Media Product enables products to be pre-defined and added to orders, which is a necessary requirement for the creation of running campaigns. To continue creating a Media Product, please read:  Adding products, spaces and layouts.
