This section is to help you to define additional requirements on ad assets in a campaign. For example: Supplementary tracking scripts, targeting, frequency or accelerated delivery mode. These settings are configured in the Assignments panel.

Opening the assignments panel

  1. Select a confirmed order using the Global seeker or from the Scorecard.
  2. Double-click the order to open it.

This will open the order and display the Assignments panel.

Viewing ad asset code

The Code area contains the Javascript tag code that will be displayed by the Fusion script. Normally there is no need to alter the ad asset code but there are cases when it is desirable, for example, to add advertisement markers or supplementary tracking scripts.

 

  1. Click Lock/Unlock on the upper-left side of the workspace in order to activate the Assignments panel.
  2. Select and expand an ad from the Assignments panel.

  1. Select an ad item.

 

This action will load the creative’s information into the Assignments panel.

 

  1. Click the Code tab on the upper-right side of the workspace.

 

  1. Review the code and make changes if necessary.

 

Note: Do not remove or insert code inside the Fusion script tags. Since this may prevent the ads from showing correctly.

 

  1. Click Save  in the order panel on the left side of the workspace.

 

Tip: Any changes to the code will be visible in the preview window by clicking Preview ad.

 

 

Tip:  A simple yet powerful way of starting addressing various ad delivery problems is first to verify that the ad is actually served locally. For information on how to test tags locally please continue by reading: Testing tags locally.

Adding targeting values to orders

 

  1. Select, open and unlock a confirmed order
  2. Click the Targeting heading in the Assignments panel.

  1. Click the arrow to the left of Defined target conditions heading to expand the target conditions.

  1. Click the arrow to expand the target condition tree.
  2. Select a condition by clicking it.

  1. Add a conditional value by clicking Add selected target condition  below the Order conditions heading.
  2. Click the arrow to expand the condition tree.
  3. Select a condition value from the drop-down menu.
  4. Click Save .

 

This action will add the condition to the current order.  To set multiple conditions simply repeat the steps above.

 

Note: In order to set targeting values the campaign must have assigned ad assets.

 

It is also possible to set conditional values on individual order items and ad assets as well.  Locate the Order item conditions and Ads conditions headings further down in the targeting section and repeat the steps described above. Targeting values can be set using predefined templates these can be found under the Templates heading at the top of the targeting section.

 

Tip: Please verify that the chosen target values and scope are correct, since applying targeting values will have an effect on campaign delivery.

Viewing targeting values

  1. Select, open and unlock a confirmed order
  2. Select an ad from the Assignments panel.
  3. Click the Targeting heading in the assignments panel to view the targeting conditions.

 

This action will expand the targeting heading and display the current conditions set on the order, order item and/or ads.

 

An order contains targeting values is indicated by an Order has targeting icon .

Adding frequency capping values

 

  1. Select, open and unlock a confirmed order.
  2. Select an ad from the Assignments panel.
  3. Click the Frequency Capping / Conflicts heading in the Assignments panel.

  1. Add a frequency capping by clicking Add order frequency capping  below the Order frequency capping heading.
  2. Select the desired frequency capping values.

  1. Click Save .

 

It is also possible to set frequency capping values on individual order items and ad assets as well.  Locate the Order item frequency capping and Ad frequency capping headings further down in the frequency capping / conflicts section and repeat the steps described above.

 

Viewing frequency capping values

  1. Select, open and unlock a confirmed order.
  2. Select an ad from the Assignments panel.
  3. Click the Frequency Capping / Conflicts heading in the Assignments panel.

 

This action will expand the frequency capping / conflicts heading and display the current frequencies set on the order, order item and/or ads.

 

Removing frequency capping values

  1. Click the Frequency Capping/Conflicts heading in the Assignments panel.
  2. Click Remove  of the frequency capping value to be removed.

  1. Click Save .

Resolving conflicts

A campaign may need to be excluded from being shown together with another campaign. For example if two competing advertisers are running campaigns and they require that their ads are not shown at the same time.

  1. Search and select the competitor’s confirmed order that is to be excluded.
  2. Select the assignment containing the ad that is to be excluded in the Assignments area
  3. Click the arrow to the left in the Assignments area to expand the assignment
  4. Select the ID field and copy the ID by right-clicking and selecting Copy or Ctrl+c

  1. Select the previous order from the Parked items bar at the bottom of the workspace
  2. Click the Frequency Capping / Conflicts heading in the Assignments panel.
  3. Select the <AdID> field and enter the assignment ID copied earlier from the campaign that should be excluded by right-clicking and selecting Paste or Ctrl+v .

  1. Click Add .

 

  1. Click Save .

 

It is also possible to make exclusions on advertiser level from the Scorecard of an advertiser. Please refer to (In Progress).

 

Tip: As long as the competing orders are not closed, they remain accessible in the Parked items bar at the bottom of the workspace.

Selecting accelerated delivery mode

If a campaign needs to deliver immediately then:

 

  1. Select the ASAP check box at the top of the assignments panel

  1. Click Save .

 

Note: In the ASAP delivery mode a campaign will try to reach the impression target as soon as possible and completely ignore the time range of the campaign. It is solely dependent on incoming traffic to the page, and therefore there is no guarantee as to when the delivery will complete. It could be completed in 3 minutes, or 3 weeks, depending on traffic and impressions booked.

Selecting delivery mode

 

  1. Select the delivery mode By Impressions or By Sequence from the drop-down menu at the top of the Assignments panel.

  1. Click Save .

 

Removing assets

 

  1. Locate the Assets area and select the ad asset to be removed.

  1. Click Remove .

 

Note: This will delete the ad asset and remove it from the list. If the asset is needed at a later time the actual ad asset file needs to be added again. However, the asset will not be removed from the campaigns already containing it.

 

When all the campaigns in the order have had ad assets assigned with the required settings, the order is considered complete and the campaign will start according to schedule.
